It’s not like I lost count. It’s kind of like I don’t care. But I don’t want to be going over a month without posting anything. So consider this filler of sorts. I mean I put work into it but it wasn’t my best effort. Let’s just get to the mock draft shall we?
FIRST ROUND
SECOND ROUND
Some crap
- Despite the fact the Cards are meeting with Bosa, that seems like a red herring. They plan on picking Murray and they plan on trading Josh Rosen. That seems like a 98.5% guarantee right now. Meaning that there’s still a chance they pick Bosa.
- The Giants still seem to be in for Dwayne Haskins at their first pick but there are some rumours floating around that they may stick with Eli Manning for the coming season. The only thing I could see here is they draft Haskins and protect him by getting Manning to be the punching bag for the season. Otherwise, not picking a QB would make little sense. This is the Giants we’re talking about though.
- I have the Redskins getting Will Grier in the second round but a lot depends on what they do before the draft to deal with their own QB situation. With Alex Smith out for the year (and possibly forever), the Skins are in play for Josh Rosen when the Cards decide to make a trade. If that’s the case, Grier might drop in the Dolphins’ lap and Daniel Jones falls out of the top 2 rounds. Or Grier falls out of the top 2 rounds. Either way, it is showing that quarterbacks aren’t nearly as important this draft compared to last year’s.
- I don’t think I will talk about steals of the draft either. No point until the draft is over.
- Remember when I said Ed Oliver is rocketing up the draft board. Yeah he has kind of dipped a bit. Still a mid-first rounder but not a Top 10 guy like I had him. I can see people going nuts over that issue he had, on national TV, with then-Houston head coach Major Applewhite. Because scouts need to find SOMETHING or else they aren’t looking hard enough.
I will do one more mock draft right before the draft. Maybe this time I will actually get some of the picks right. Yeah, probably not.
So RIP to the AAF. I think I may actually do a column with this involved so won’t go into much depth here. Sucks for the men and women involved in the league but not fully surprising.
Draft is three weeks away. Still working on the college football schedule. Tweaking it, if you will. Especially when updated info comes up. Honestly contemplating a move to some sort of IPTV in the next few months. Don’t worry though: I would still do the schedules for all of you. It still keeps me organized (somewhat). Have a great rest of the week everyone!
