  • Maryland confirmed for the Quick Lane Bowl against Boston College.  Meh.
  • The Liberty Bowl gets TCU.  The Horned Frogs not as good as in the past decade (other than their first Big XII year) but they always bring it come bowl time.  The Liberty Bowl also gets Georgia.  This should be a good bowl game.
  • South Carolina heading to the Birmingham Bowl to face USF.  Shitty stadium but could be a bit of an appealing matchup.
  • As expected, Texas A&M goes to the Texas Bowl to face old Big XII rival Kansas State in what should be a dandy.
  • Vandy to the Independence Bowl.  I would like to see Vandy win this to be honest.  Nothing against NC State but Vandy is always the underdog.
  • Whoa the Sun Bowl got a great game.  Stanford-North Carolina.  Count me in!
  • The Holiday Bowl gets Washington State and Minnesota.  I hope Wazzu throws the ball 100 times.
  • The last bowl game confirmed is the Foster Farms Bowl with Indiana facing Utah.  I don’t like the Hoosiers’ chances here.

Alright I will update with dates, times, and broadcast information and even bowl rankings over the next week or so.  I know I have to update some information like the Foster Farms Bowl actually being on the 28th and on FOX so I will get to all those changes later. At least we are done with the bowl selections for another season.  I still wish they did it the way I said they should but I digress.

  1. Great work, Bossman!

I am disappointed to see two games involving SEC East teams against Big Ten West teams as I believe those two divisions are quite weak and would like to see all four of the teams in those two games lose in order to validate my opinion. That, plus I hate the Gators and Vols at the best of times 🙂

There are some tasty non-NY6 match-ups though. Like you that Stanford-UNC game intrigues me. Also Louisville-LSU, Ok St-Colorado, West Virginia-Miami, Arkansa-Va Tech and Houston-SD State. Plus there are always others that appear nondescript at first glance but turn out to be fantastic game. Bring it on!

    1. Thanks!
Like every bowl season there are some good matchups and bad matchups. I think we are going to get the tendency to see more bad-to-average matchups now that there are more and more bowl games. I wish they would trim the fat so to speak and drop four or five bowl games to keep some of the lesser teams out. Don’t get me wrong, I will watch damn near all these games but some I will PVR and fly through and others I will try to watch all of.
