Week 5 NFL Schedule – Sponsored by Disgruntled Former Starting Quarterbacks

mallett 2

And by former I mean they were starting last night and they were yanked because they were terrible. I am honestly surprised Ryan Mallett didn’t just leave the sidelines and go get some snacks at the concession stand shortly after he was benched. Talk about a sullen sore loser. You played like shit, guy. What did you expect? To be the next Papa John’s spokesman?

Alright, let’s get down to the schedule and then some quick analysis:

Sunday
1:00 Seattle at Cincinnati FOX (BC, Alberta, Northern Ontario, Belleville, Cornwall, Quebec, Eastern Canada)/CTV (Vancouver, Alberta, Saskatchewan)
1:00 Chicago at Kansas City FOX (Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northwestern Ontario)/TSN1/TSN3/TSN4/TSN5
1:00 Washington at Atlanta no TV
1:00 Cleveland at Baltimore no TV
1:00 St. Louis at Green Bay CBS (BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northwestern Ontario, Northern Ontario, Western Ontario, K/W-Cambridge, Guelph, Ottawa-Gatineau)/CTV (Winnipeg)
1:00 New Orleans at Philadelphia no TV
1:00 Jacksonville at Tampa Bay no TV
1:00 Buffalo at Tennessee CBS (Golden Horseshoe, GTA, Eastern Ontario (except Ottawa), Quebec, Eastern Canada)/CTV (all of Ontario, Montreal, Atlantic)
4:05 Arizona at Detroit FOX (Western Ontario, K/W-Cambridge, Guelph, Golden Horseshoe, GTA, Peterborough, Kingston, Ottawa-Gatineau)/TSN1/TSN3/TSN4/TSN5
4:25 New England at Dallas CBS (all of Canada)/CTV (Vancouver, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Winnipeg, all of Ontario, Montreal)/CTV2 (Atlantic)
4:25 Denver at Oakland no TV
8:30 San Francisco at NY Giants NBC/TSN1/TSN3/TSN4/TSN5
Monday
8:30 Pittsburgh at San Diego TSN1/TSN3/TSN4/TSN5

Obviously some games merit way more coverage. New England travelling to Dallas. Of course most Canadians should get that game since it seems these days there are more Patriots fans than anything (New England Patriots: Playing Football Since 2000) and there have always been a lot of Cowboys fans around. Other than Bills fans and Packers fans, these two teams have the biggest fanbases among Canadians I am sure. What I don’t get is how much love Chicago and Kansas City are getting this weekend. Four of the five TSNs AND FOX in most of the prairies? Really? For two mediocre teams. This what I can’t stand about TSN. They could have easily had two games on these channels early on Sunday. Have Chicago-KC on TSN1 and TSN3 and another game (like, say Washington-Atlanta) on the other two. But no, pull a Sportsnet and put it on almost every one of the channels (except for TSN2 which almost feels like the black sheep of the family.

So 11 games on Sunday other than the Sunday nighter and Canadians can see six of them. Wow, that’s pretty bad actually. I have noticed that CTV and TSN (as mentioned above) seem to like to put the same game across most regions of the country. Do they realize we get CBS and FOX? I have a feeling there are some that work there that really do believe that we only get Canadian channels. Ridiculous. If I wasn’t probably watching most of the day I would care a lot less. Oh well, I guess it could be worse but I don’t want to give them any ideas.

Mah ProLine Picks, ya HEAR!

I have been doing above average so far this season. Not good enough to win but not bad enough to be considered shitty. So basically like every one of those so-called professionals who select games and allow you to hear their “awesome” logic for only $80 a month. I think I may have missed my calling in life. Anyway here are my picks:

Seattle over Cincinnati

Kansas City over Chicago

Atlanta over Washington

Baltimore over Cleveland

Green Bay over St. Louis

Philadelphia over New Orleans

Jacksonville over Tampa Bay

Buffalo over Tennessee

Arizona over Detroit

New England over Dallas

Denver over Oakland

San Francisco over NY Giants

San Diego over Pittsburgh

I should be live-tweeting most of Saturday and a decent part of Sunday (@LikeABauce1978) until I probably pass out on both days. Still wondering what shitty food I will end up shoving down my throat this weekend. No wonder I have a dadbod (Although I thought they were sexy? Yeah sure they are. What a fucking joke.). Have a good weekend and enjoy the games.

  1. Here are my selections for the rest of Week Five in the NFL:

    Cincinnati over Seattle
    Kansas City over Chicago
    Atlanta over Washington
    Baltimore over Cleveland
    Green Bay over St. Louis
    Philadelphia over New Orleans
Tampa Bay over Jacksonville (it would be funny if the final score of this game ends up being 0-0)
    Buffalo over Tennessee
    Arizona over Detroit
    New England over Dallas
    Denver over Oakland
San Francisco over N.Y. Giants (upset of the week)
San Diego over Pittsburgh (Steelers would have been in a letdown spot had they won last Thursday)
